I do not want responses saying i have to discover god within me. Before posing this question, I had already convinced myself that god does not exist.

Perhaps I have misworded this question. I think it should read: How do you argue that gods exists?

I am not personally trying to find god. I am trying to understand something that I have trouble understanding, the mind of a religious person.

Ok..... well, just think about this

The first question we must ask is how did the universe begin?

Your probably thinking the "big bang theory" right.

ok... According to the big bang theory is that before the big bang there would have been some sort of particle that happen to contain all the atoms in the universe and then the particle would had exploded. So as a result all the atoms spread-ed out and some how creating the universe.

So then we are left with 2 new questions.

What caused that particle to explode?

How did that particle come into existence?

If you come up with an answer please email it to me. If you don't well theres a good reason why there has to be a God and for you to check this out

I don't see the point. If you have as you said already made up your mind, why are you asking for a rebuttal over something you have closed the door too?
No one can give you the empirical evidence that you are looking for. If God was to suddenly stand before you in all His Glory you would have no choice but to accept Him. That would take the choice away from you because you know that you would have to believe in Him. He does not want you to have to love Him but to choose to love Him and in order to do that He must remain hidden in His full glory and convince you to love Him with the information that He has made available to you.
Compelling arguments? How about the origin of the code contained in DNA? Irreducible complexities within the human cell? Privileged positioning of earth within the Cosmos? Fine tuning of the laws of Physics? Where did your ideas come from? What can you attribute the human desire for eternal benevolence to? Why is it that you think you have meaning and purpose without it having eternal value? If everything is relative to subjective experience within this limited finite experirence why do you or I or anyone else have to give a d*** about anything? Eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die? If you go mad and start killing everyone is it sensible to think that there are not eternal consequences for your actions? Or can you take the chickens*** way out and commit suicide and avoid any repercussions for your actions? The whole idea of relationships to ourselves and the world we live in is totally meaningless if as you say, God does not exist. You may think you can come up with some idea that gives your life meaning but so what! Nobody cares. Tomorrow you die and are forgotten. Is that the world you live in?
I'm sorry to hear that. In my world every life has significance, is valued, cherished, unfortunately fallen from its first estate but redeemed by the one that authors love and benevolence towards the whole of that which He created. Hope you check it out someday. Until then go burn a puppy, rape a child, beat a homeless person or whatever, because any action you do merely validates your existence whether that action is good or bad, it does not matter. More than validation, significance, is what a world with God is. You don't want there to be a God? Well eventually your wishes will be realized...too late for you...so sad.

This really shouldn't be that hard to understand. To those that believe in god, he does exist, and no amount of debating, arguing, or offering what you consider to be facts will ever change that. The belief in god is what helps some people make it through those long dark nights that we all experience from time to time. Who are we to deny them that? Personally I do not believe in any god, or that Jesus was anything more then a prophet. Will you deny me my beliefs, or try to prove that I am wrong, or is it only the Christians that you oppose?

It cannot be done, and would be useless even if it could be done. Catholic theologian Hans Kung, in a huge book entitled Does God Exist?, examined the matter in excruciating detail and concluded that no proof of the existence or non-existence of god is possible. (Not surprisingly, he deliberately chose the affirmative.) I agree with his results, although my approach is somewhat different. But the more important thing to show is that such a belief is useless. It is provable that the predictive power of any theory derives exclusively from the refutability of that theory, and all theories of god are irrefutable: it is impossible to show that they are NOT true. Hence, any such theory can predict nothing, and is useless.

Soul is unseen just like God, it is so abstract. All of us do believe
that air and electricity exist even we can't see them. Do you deny that our body had a soul attached, have you dreamed before? This is the time where our soul leave our body and wandering around. Have you ever wondered how uniquely you are being created, fully automatic, just like you are looking at a robot achieved by somebody and started admiring the achiever?
Open your mind and look around you , within the atmosphere and the earth, into the sea even into the universe, can't you see that everything is relating to us, there are being created just for the sake of human being like you and me. Do you or Do you not feel the benevolence of the Almighty God?

It depends on the God in your life, In order to prove a thing you must first have variables that produce hypothesis, which formulate theory. This can only be considered by your minds idea of what the creator is or isn't, you must disbelieve a thing than formulate variables to prove your findings, your very existence defines a Power=God that created you unless you remember where you were before you entered this level of existence. You must look for the Creator in you, don't look out in space on a cloud , yet look on the cloud of your throne(dome).

The very fact that you are struggling, regardless if you can explain your feelings it or not, you're looking for Him. We all are given a inner desire that we can't explain, to seek our Creator. All societies have and do. Think about the people living in undeveloped areas of the world, they have "worshipped" higher beings for centuries.

If I could recommend a book, "The Case for Faith" written by Lee Strobel. He was a journalist who, like you, didn't want to experience a relationship with Jesus Christ, he wanted to explain it away. He realized while he was researching that he couldn't explain it away, but instead became a born again Christian as a result. This isn't his first book, but I think this one will have the answers you're looking for. You will find it at a Christian bookstore. It's about 275 pages long.

I'll pray that you will find the answers you need. You might decide to become a Christian too!

There are 2 things: One is God and the other is Love that have no right or wrong answer or description because to each and every person there is a unique perspective and understanding of what it is to each person. This is why there is so much disagreement over "God" and beliefs. As we evolve and learn more about the history of the universe and our planet and the magnificent design of it and us and life itself , we also become aware that there is still a vast unknown and the more we know the more we realize we don't know. Obviously and I think to all peoples we can be sure we are part of something much bigger then ourselves, note that I said "a part". I believe that religion does a disservice to our spiritual selves and potential, including awareness and connection to the rest of the world and that which is unseen.to us.Religions are tools used to control masses of people and to define an entity as a God is rather lame, but comes from the time where it was believable.
All life combined may very well be in Gods image but not mankind alone, considering of all creatures ,we are about the most destructive and dysfunctional of all. Modern man needs to get in touch with what our place is in the scheme of things,
we really don't know our place yet and we may never if we continue to remain divided and go to war over religious beliefs and resources to feed, house and fuel the world .
Consider our existance, it has taken all that came before us for us in order for us to be here as we are , in the beginning of life forms taking place after the planet cooled off enough to sustain life, all comes from basic elements. all of life is very dependent and part of a system that continues to grow and learn , the whole idea is fantastic and then to think there is an entire universe doing the same thing in many ways, so there are a gazillion ways to interpret God. seems to me that God is
all of life and death combined or the interactivity and growth of all the elements and it's balance that continues to change . The fact that so much has come from a basic set of conditions and matter over time and that we have an awareness of much of the world , her past , things so small we cant see, places so far away beyond our universe, the fact that we have pictures of planets in our solar system and can read our dna , transplant organs , clone life, etc, shows that there is much more to come if we don't blow it, I can't percieve God as being one entity or anything as simple as religions claim it to be or do I see it as admitting some souls to heaven or sending others to hell, but people interpret what we can't even begin to concieve in a way that allows them to justify their existence within a community. Every one has that right , but It's sad that too many limit themselves to man made rites.and consider themselves superior of all life and others.
The earth is a body that lives and breaths and is similar to the human body in her functions, and she is so much greater then us, she doesn't appear to pleased with our presence and may purge us all together. through all this there is still the energy or life force that we posses in this life and this energy came from someplace and will continue to exist even after our bodies return to the earth or the food chain, we don't see it or know the answers but that doesnt mean it isn't real and doesnt exist.
but internally and spiritually the connection you make with life and the elements around you and what you are a part of, is where you will define your idea of what God is to you

No scripure huh, ok I'll try this.

What else could there be. We had to come from somewhere right? I'd say the 2 major opinions on the subject are God or evolution(aka nothing). The way I understand it evolution claims we(every living thing) came from bacteria which somehow came from nothing. I don't know about you, but that doesn't make sense to me. To me the existence of a higher power that created everything makes much more sense.

I've seen and heard things that for me personally affirm my faith in God even more, but experinces like that are for you to find.

If I thought about it I might have more, but that's all for now.

God Bless!

My existence adventure and the failings which have befell to me have led me to the best that there is a few type of purpose or layout to our existence, and that spirituality is a real area of human existence, yet (as far as our clinical information reaches right this moment) there's no thanks to teach or degree this. i imagine that some day even as technology progresses more effective we can stumble on a hyperlink between measurable/observable phenomena and religious reviews (there has already been quite of study achieved in this section linking expertise, spirituality and quantum physics, in spite of the indisputable fact that it's not conclusive in any respect). In different words, i don't think that technology/rationality and spirituality are at the same time unique, in spite of the indisputable fact that it really is my idea in accordance to my personal reviews and reasoning, i don't think of i might want to ever convince everyone of it in the adventure that they did not already trust me. That being suggested, i imagine almost each and every prepared faith, even as there are absolutely some ultimate religious/moral teachings, is in accordance to organic mythology. "God" contained in the Christian experience, isn't "genuine," as contained in the way he's represented contained in the Bible is in accordance to mythology and is amazingly narrow in its interpretation. same is going for the different deity. those Gods are in basic terms pictures and emblems human beings have used to represent and understand the workings of the Universe. yet in basic terms because all of those deities are human creations doesn't inevitably recommend (to me, a minimum of) that spirituality in a broader experience is likewise made up. So, i do not evaluate myself religious or a believer of any type. yet i'm not an atheist both. i quite don't realize or declare to charm to close how spirituality works or what it really is suitable to, yet I do believe that it exists, and prefer I suggested, it really is in accordance to my personal own existence adventure.
