Here are some tips u can try:-

Use a mixture of almond oil+ olive oil+ castor oil, (1:1:1/2) twice a week overnight application.

Use a mixture of egg + sour curds once a week atleast.

You can also soak fenugreek seeds overnite and then grind in the morning. Add a sour curd, apply the paste for an hour and then wash off.

Try mashed banana as well.

Flat beer acts a great rinse after a hair wash.

Try using mayonnaise, on your hair, it works as a super softner!!

Always condition your hair after shampoo. Use mild shampoo.

Fully wash your hair with shampoo until it feels "grippy"
Use an expensive (it sucks, but that's the way it works) but not super expensive conditioner and use it adequately but not excessively.
At this point you may want to get out of the shower and read a book with a towel wrapped around you for about half an hour
Fully rinse and brush hair before drying.
Do not do this just before going to bed

Anything where you can leave conditioner in your hair for a long period of time (~20+ minutes) then rinse fully is good advice, even if it is before you get in the shower. Put a towel on your back and put conditioner in your hair for a while before you get in.
Also, always make sure you brush your hair before it dries.

I see your name trini,my husbands from trinidad, bug up TT. I would suggest using pink moisturizer, there products are affordable and they work great in my hair. Pantene has a shampoo for women of color and it works really good too, they have a conditioner too. Then the pink moisturizer has the leave in moisturizer i use every time i wash my hair. You should only wash 1x every 2 weeks or so if you have dry hair it usually means you are over washing, and that strips out all the oils your hair needs to be health and radiant,if you can't make it 2 weeks go for 1.

I use nothing but nexxus humectress with the associated conditioner. I also use the clarifying shampoo every other time I wash her hair. I've found the best relaxer is optimum in the purple box, but in between relaxers we use a professional straightener. You should always use a heat protectant before you use a blowdryer or a straightener. Layers secretly cut into your hair that are not noticable help eliminate the bulk and let it lay down better.

Try this out:

½ a cup Olive oil
1 egg
Some sea salt (table salt, if not available)
Lavender oil (optional)

Break the egg and separate the yolk from the white. Beat the yolk, dribbling in the olive oil as you do.

Add a drop of lavender oil and coat your hair with it, making sure every strand is covered.

Wrap a hot, damp towel around your hair and leave for about 15 minutes.

Then rinse well with cool water, making sure all the mixture is out. Finally, shampoo, making sure not to use very hot water ...

You might need to have it periodically straightened in order for it to be straighter. You can also get a layered cut to make the hair thinner. Finally, experiment with shampoos/conditioners, and use a hair product like gel on your hair before you go out.
