I find this rather insulting. I have a commercial sized ice maker that would be able to fit in my hotel room. All I would need is for them to take the hinges off the door and for them to help me carry it up the stairs. I was planning on paying for five nights and I like making my own ice but the girl on the phone said no. I usually don't stay in motels but I need to go for job interviews out of state. I'm just so peeved.

Who cares about the ice? You can get all the free ice you want from a hotel. What I want to know is why they won't let you setup a propane grill on their balcony. I mean we could save a ton of money by cooking in our rooms.

I would have to side with the hotel. And while they are helping you carry it to your room and it is dropped. You are going to blame the hotel staff and expect them to buy you a new ice maker. And then you want them to take the door off to get it in and out of the room. Nope have to side with them.

Are you kidding me?? Do you really need so much ice that you need to bring your own machine? Just use the one provided. I can't believe you'd expect them to take the hinges off the door for you.

Large electrical appliances could pose a legal liability if they break and create a dangerous situation for the other guests. Hotels can limit their own liability by only using hotel-supplied appliances on the premises. You'll find that in many European countries it is illegal for hotels to provide irons for guests, as they are a fire hazard.

Well....you will be using their electricity, if your freezer has a problem you could burn down their hotel and maybe kill a few people

Leave your ice machine at home and get a little class. Very silly question.

If there's a short in it, it could catch on fire. Plus your neighbors don't want to here the ice machine all night.
