Here's the thing. My boyfriend doesn't brush his teeth first thing in the morning. He has this habit where he eats his breakfast and then brushes his teeth. He says it doesn't make sense to brush your teeth when you wake up only to dirty them again with breakfast food. But I find this disgusting because that means he's swallowing all the icky, smelly, dirt that builds up in his mouth during the night. Not to mention it doesn't give me much incentive to kiss him. Am I wrong for being repulsed by this? Should I just let it go? Is oral hygiene that important?

don't give him akiss in the morn instead tell him honestly that during night sleep certain germ build up and smelly icky stuff develop in our mouth that need to be clean by gargling and brushing, and the first time he brush in the morning give him the most passionate kiss you can give him and if he really loves you so much thats a good enough incentive... buy him a good toothbrush, too

Oral hygiene is VERY IMPORTANT!!!! My boyfriend is the same way. I don't know if he brushes in the morning, but from the way it smells when I'm with him, I don't think he brushes at all. He's a big guy so I don't he will go to the dentist because he thinks he can't fit in the dentist chair. Unlike him, I am very big on oral hygiene. Believe me, you are not wrong for being repulsed by his nasty habit. But compared to my man, you got it made. Try kissing a guy who has so much plaque on his teeth, that it's beginning to cover up his teeth!! His breath smells like he ate a dead body that had a dead rat on it and then was set on fire!!

Does he brush his teeth before he goes to bed? If so,... his breath may not smell like peppermint when he wakes up, but there is no icky dirt building up over night.... would you rather kiss him 8 hours after he eats breakfast just to end up with his leftovers in your mouth?

Doesn't sound like he lacks oral hygiene at all... just that he doesn't do it to your preferred schedule.

You're absolutely right about him sucking in the muck. If he's not going to brush before breakfast, he should at least gargle with something potent like Listerine. Try not having sex with him at night. Kinda snuggle up to him in the morning. Then, when he responds, tell him go go brush his teeth first. When he doesn't brush before breakfast, turn your head away from him every time he talks. I know he's a man, but he should eventually see you're doing that. When he asks why, tell him his breath stinks!

being that he delay's his oral hygiene by what, half an hour? I don't think it's that big of a deal...

he's swallowing all that stuff all night anyway, so that's not a concern...

if it bothers you so much, don't kiss him, or anything like that, until after he's brushed his teeth... if he asks why you wont, tell him that his mouth is dirty, and you cleaned yours already, why should you make your mouth dirty just because he wont clean his until later?

No junk is building up overnight. The majority of people brush their teeth after breakfast. Just don't kiss him till after he eats, and then brushes his teeth.

Most people brush their teeth after meals. Except for you and my husband. He brushes his teeth whenever he has a shower, and then eats. Doesn't make sense to me.

if he tries to kiss you in the morning, turn away and tell him that you want to brush your teeth because you know you have morning breath and see if you cant con him into going to the bath room with you to brush his teeth too.

that might help
