These books were written hundreds of years ago by men inspired by god and, while they contain a great deal of good advice in so much as how mankind should live, there's an awful lot that's unacceptable, such as animal sacrifice, warring against those who don't believe, and a complete lack of women's rights. Isn't it time we had something a bit more universal and peaceful? Couldn't we have some of the greatest representatives of all religions, non-religious people included, to create a global book of life? Would various religious believers, yourself included, follow such a lifeplan?

I am sure it would make for an interesting read, however, I doubt you would have many people of strong faiths ready to give up their holy books.

The bible replaced into easily prepare with the help of the church wherein particular books have been considered "canon" (sturdy and 'authentic') and placed into the Bible and others have been excluded. The Bible remains incredibly unchanged now via fact there are in basic terms fairly some books that considered canon, and on a similar time as some new books and gospels have been got here upon they're often no longer oftentimes happening. in case you seem at many diverse protestant traditions, some Bibles could have some books that others do no longer, exceedingly while in comparison with Catholicism. modern memories are not extra to the Bible via fact there hasn't been something happing that has been considered properly worth putting in. some small religions that have branched off Christianity with greater modern activities have their own version of the Bible with their extra books.

Not for me. I like the Bible just fine. If you would actually read it, you might realize that some of the things you mentioned like animal sacrifice, no longer existed after God said not to do it. I believe the Bible is the Global book of life, so go on your quest. It might be interesting reading, like the DaVinci Code.

perhaps u wer reading the old testament.
what would u replace it with? our own opinion?
the bible >is< the "global book of life". just bcuz it doesn't fit into 1's personal lifestyle, or to a certain peoples life, and just bcuz each interpets it to their own understanding? hitler tried this, (burning bibles, textbooks, resources for higher education) ect... bcuz it didn't fit into his personal liking, such as non-believers in >him< whom he massacred by the millions, and womens rights--such as taking the children from their parents especially boys for >his< global attitude.
still want to replace the bible? then go to N. Korea or china, or cuba where they have their own doctrine that has replaced the bible, come back (or try to come back) and I'll bet you'll change your position/

And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are true. But if ye cannot- and of a surety ye cannot- then fear the Fire whose fuel is men and stones,- which is prepared for those who reject Faith. (2:23-24)

No

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

-- Isaiah 1: 18-20 (KJV)

In 2 Timothy read the following and see if you see yourself there.

Chapter 3
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

THERE IS HOPE FOR EVERYONE INCLUDING YOU

Plato once said "man merely exhumes what is fed into him".So you can try to bury the Bible, it will rise up to the surface.Consider the loss to the world if the Nazis had nabbed Einstein.

If modern society is not in step with God's Word, then it is modern society that must change, for God's Word is eternal. And God knows, modern society is in desperate need of drastic change!
