I have faith in myself if that is what you mean. There was a long time when I did not. My ex told me I was ugly and that no one would ever want me if I left him. He beat me for the better part of 5 years before I finally decided I deserved better than that even if I was the fattest ugliest cow on earth. So I left him and took the next 10 years or so building myself back up. I owe most of that to God and my husband.

to believe we must first understand. I do not understand myself fully. Even at age 32 I still have more to learn about myself. I constantly wonder if I'm normal or crazy. It became such an inner debate that I was driven to write a book. I had to do research in psychology, biology, and cognition. I have found that it is important to "know thy self". But what does it matter if no one else knows, if no one else believes. It is hard to believe in yourself if your not reassured. I do exist but is my existence pointless?
