I've never heard of anyone getting out of BCT early? Wouldn't recommend following him to AIT. Let him concentrate on the training. Then after he's through with AIT you'll be together. It may seem tough now, but it will be for the best.

The best place to get these answers is from your husband's recruiter or the nearest Family support office. Generally speaking, spouses are not sent along to AIT. I do know of some who choose to relocate to the general area for however long the school lasts, but that does not gaurantee your spouse being home every night. You have a lot of questions, which is good. Your spouse should be able to get the answers or at least the contact info of a place where you can get them, but beware...many times the military will not discuss much with the spouse!!

Wait until he finishes his training before you try to find a place with him. Believe me,as an AF veteran, you barely have time for your training and everything that goes along with it such as ironing you uniforms, shining your shoes, cleaning your weapons, to have to worry about trying to manage a new household. If you go to soon, it will force him to have to choose which will put an unfair amount of pressure on him. Let him finish and then you will have the rest of your lives to spend together. Qualifying for advanced training means more training and he won't be getting out sooner but later. But rest assured, the training doesn't last forever and once it is done, there will be much less stress in his life.

He will not get out of basic sooner. That does not happen. You can not PCS (move) to his AIT station unless that is his final duty station. When he gets to his final duty station.... Ft. Bragg, Ft. Polk, etc you will be able to move there. However, during AIT (especially with one 8 mos long) he may be provided visitation rights. Depending on the MOS (military occupational speciality) he may or may not be able to stay off post on four day weekends etc. to visit with family members.
Your best bet is to talk to his recruiter or wait till he gets to AIT and can talk with his 1SG. My advice as a Soldier and spouse is to wait till he actually goes to his final duty station. There is no sense of moving some temporary place when you will only have to move 8 mos later. Plus, while he is in AIT he will not be able to live with you.

You are going to have to get your answers from the Army on this one, they would give you the best advise. Congrats to hubby for getting out of basic sooner. Don't worry about the graduation, it's nice, but its just a parade. The sooner he gets through his training the sooner he gets to his permanent duty station.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay put until he finishes his training. You can go to visit, but do not move until he gets to his first duty station. Although, I wouldn't recommend visiting, besides for graduation and other family days, until he finishes his training. I've seen alot of soldiers become distracted by family and other problems while in training and some had to be sent home.
