Being skinny is not healthy unless being skinny is derived form yoru basic genetics. Sure, keep yourself fit and healthy, eat right, get lots of fresh air, sunshine and exercise and you will be fine. Oh, and all thos eskinny people in ads and on TV are often not nearly as beautiful and healthy as they appear to be.

"Skinny as a toothpick" is indeed gross. Try to be healthy and happy and confident instead.
You'll need to balance off physical activity with diet. If you want to lose weight you either exercise more, or eat fewer calories, or both.
At your age, I'd suggest lots and lots of playing outdoors, along with joining a sports team.

Skinny as a tooth pick IS gross. Your body is beautiful and if you are under 150 lbs you have NOTHING to worry about. If you really need advice, consult a friend, teacher, parent, sibling, or doctor. The number one rule is do not starve yourself no matter what! After starving for onyl 5 fours you body goes into survival mode and you actually GAIN weight. So please, dont do anything stupid.

I STRONGLY suggest you call a confidential help-line for teenagers facing painful dillemas, and YOU my friend are definitely walking towards the cross in the road that leads you to anorexia/bulemia=possible death.
I am VERY strongly suggesting you to do so, for you sound JUST like ME when I was 14 yrs. old, and managed to get my hands on a friend's fathers diet pills (speed) and stayed awake for days, did not eat, instead I got sick after 3 days, and had to be hospitalized with a drip for dehydration. It was a sickness, a disease, anorexia for me, and I truly hope you do not go down that path. Do you at least have a guidance counsellor at your school that you can talk to? If you are worried about your folks getting alerted by guidance councellor, it is against the law in most states for "confidential info from a student" to be sent to the parents of the student-Then again, its not foolproof, because I have a feeling that being that you sound like you are ill in Egypt (in de-nile) Please post back and let me know how you are. I am GENUINELY concerned about you. I will include you in my prayers tonight with my family prayers. Good luck, and God bless!

Just be healthy.
Make small, gradual changes and over time, they will have an extremely powerful effect on you.
Check out http://www.obesitykills.iconfessional.com . The guy there is an ex-Marine, like myself, and he's putting together a program for himself in his blog that will get him back into shape. It will work for pretty much anyone and he's doing it all publically.
He's not selling anything, just sharing what he's doing as he does it. He's hoping for encouragement and motivation from his readers.
Hope that helps.

I agree with Sunshine. You need to talk with someone about why this is important to you. As the father of a preteen girl this is something I watch for. The right shape and weight are more a function of how you feel. Good exercise and healthy diets are always best. Please talk to your mother, a grandmother, aunt or a counselor at school.
True beauty is what we feel and do, not in our physical dimensions. And that is no platitude. It is the truth. Begin by talking with someone. Please.

Being a preteen your body is still maturing and in time if you diet and exercise properly you will mature into a strong healthy individual being neither skinny or fat but well structured and fit.

To get skinner you need to exercise a lot, and to eat more vegetables. Believe me it will take long time but exercise will help you.

Honey, don't worry so much about it. Try a healthy lifestyle, and positive thinking for starters. Eat healthy and exercise. Stay away from "junk food."
