why would anyone be against jesus getting married to mary magdaline. She was a beautiful person and marriage is not a sin at all . I love jesus christ so much but if it would have made him happy to marry her I would be happy for them. He deserves the love of a wife that we all have the chance to get.

I've always wondered the same thing. You know I'm atheist, but I do believe that Jesus existed. In my eyes he was just a man of extreme importance, with nothing more than human qualities.

I have always wondered why it would have been so terrible for him to have loved a woman, possibly married, or fathered a child(ren). To me, it seems sad that history places him in such high esteem, but in such a lonely position. To die like he did, without ever knowing that type of love just seems cruel, and somehow selfish on the part of those who insist he was without the love of a woman.

No one will ever know, but it's my sincere hope that he married Mary Magdelane.

First, your thinking of Jesus as just a man. You have to think that if he was also God and that the reason Jesus didn't marry is the same reason that priests don't get married today. Jesus Christ was totally focused on his mission on earth, a life of servitude and love. Also, the love that Jesus shares in the Trinity, the love he has for us, and also the love of all his followers. This love is far more powerful than any other. And by the way Dan Brown isn't a biblical scholar and doesn't have any education in that field to my knowledge. He was just trying to sell his book. And on a final note, don't think I'm saying marriage is useless. Marriage, other than the relationship you have with God, is the strongest bond you can have with another person.

There are several reasons why Jesus could not have been married to Mary Magdalene, or any other woman, even though it was the Jewish tradition for rabbis to be married:

1. If Jesus was married, don't you think this fact would be mentioned in at least one of the four Gospels?
2. Jesus' public ministry lasted for only three and a half years. He didn't really have time for a wife. He was constantly traveling during this period.
3. The Bible states, and Christians believe, that Jesus was God in the flesh. If God in the flesh married a mere mortal woman, what would the children be?

I love to reply each, with foolish questions I love to supply believable severe sounding solutions like I've fairly idea approximately it. With severe questions, if it sounds just like the asker is honest and wise I will supply a major reply. If they do not sound too brilliant or you'll inform they're asking the query tongue in cheek, then I'll supply a foolish reply. Now to reply your 2 questions: a million. Rosie O'Donnel blow up doll (may also be used as a raft) two. My ex-spouse (I can not blow up a doll that significant!) three. a can opener (when you consider that you in no way recognize) Second query: I trust your female friend. If she desires you to blah blah blah within the bed room then your will have to. Just make her promise that after she's performed, you get to do it to her. I would not feel you are overreacting approximately this, simply being a little bit near minded. I recognize your female friend and we blah blah blah always. It's laborious and a little bit painful in the beginning however if you bought used to it and stretched somewhat, it wasn't so dangerous. It used to be a little bit icky while your mom requested to become a member of us however she has a satisfactory rack. Once she bought warmed up there used to be no preventing her. I wouldn't be against Jesus and Mary being married if that was Gods will. But God sent Jesus here for a single purpose and I don't feel that it would have been fair to Mary to love Jesus and marry him then have to watch as he was put to in such a cruel manner, Jesus knew what he must do, and he did it. The most important thing that Jesus loved Mary enough to forgive her her sins.

In our eyes and our understanding, this seems to be no big deal, but the fact is, it is not a Biblically sound idea. There is no one thing that I can point to to say this did not happen, you have to read and understand the scriptures in its entirety to understand that earthly marriage was not something That Jesus would have or could have done considering His reason to be here on earth- also it would cheapen and make a mockery of the fact that the church is the bride of Christ.
I don't understand why it is so much easier to listen to the outrageous ideas of ungodly men whose only goal is to make God common and bring doubt regarding the divinity of Christ than to study to show thyself approved, pray for understanding and believe that the thoughts and ways of God are higher than the thoughts and ways of man.

I think this is something the Church wanted to use to explain why priests and nuns can't get married. It might be to teach people that being devoted entirely to God is all you need to be happy. I don't think it has anything to do with Mary Magdalene. But then again, there are theories that the wedding where Jesus turned water into wine was actually the tale of Jesus' wedding. So you never know.

Probably because some may feel it would cheapen His image as the Son of God. Virgins are considered pure, but married women are not. So, I guess the same goes for men. He had to be untarnished.

I don't see what the big deal is either. They speak of "Sanctity" of marriage.

Jesus' bride was his Church. Mary the Magdalena was a part of his Church so in a way I guess he did marry her but just not in this world.
