That sounds like it could be an allergies. I gets hives several times a year ever since I was little and my nose runs too. sometimes there doesn't appear to be a clear cause for hives. You should talk to your doctor about it!

Don't know what you came in contact with, but cats and dogs have this affect on allergic persons if they pet the animal and then touch their eye or just being in the presence of the animal is enough for some persons! If a dog or cat licks some peoples skin, or the pads of the animals paws rub on your skin hives come up on your skin, very itchy, blotchy. Asthma is affected too sometimes and runny nose, sneezing is obvious sign of allergy as well. If you get the same reaction every time you are in the same environment most likely your allergic to something there.

I am not a doctor but I suffer from eczema. So many symptoms can lead doctors to many possible causes. I recommend you see your personal doctor and seek a referral. Or if you are uninsured, find a free or low cost clinic.

You might have an allergy, some form of eczema, or might even have acidentally rubbed some irritant such as laundry soap onto your eye. Only a doctor or other medical specialist can determine the root of the problem with any certainty and then give you the relief you need.

It could be an allergic reaction... it's tough to diagnose when it's intermittent. if you have time keep a log of when it happens along with what you ate, drank on that day. After years of removing items and foods that I thought was the cause, and then reintroducing them months later to see if the reaction was the same, we discovered I was allergic to Latex... ironically, I was in health care at the time and with each episode the hives got worse... and I eventually had to relocate out of the hospital environment. Make an appointment with an Allergist who can run blood panels and do stick/patch tests to determine exactly what you might be sensitive to... also be prepared to ask yourself questions like: Have you purchased new makeup, lotion, shampoo/conditioner, detergent. how often do you change your pillowcase... and let the allergist know if anything unusual pops up.
