ASAP..Allowing him to keep marking will only be confusing for him.. He is ready now..the trauma won't make much difference..He will still be glad to be home with you when it is over..

NOW !!

and he should not be unsupervised so that he gets the OPPORTUNITY to mark - that is Your Fault, not the pup's. Bad Human!

crate- train Ur pup, so that he's safely confined when U are not able to supervise him; and when he's out, ALWAYS keep him in the same room with the people, so that he's unable to pee or poop indoors.

leash-walk him for all potty-trips; chances are excellent that the breeder never housetrained him at all, so U need to start off as if he's a little baby, with a crate, a schedule, and leashed potty-trips ONLY.

that's so that U can reward him, Every Time, that he goes in the Right place, at the Right time. Carry small but good treats WITH U - rewarding him inside the house is silly, as U want to reward him for pottying in the correct place, not for walking indoors.

he will need to be kept separate from the older dogs till he is fully healed, so that they don't play too rough; this will take abt 5 to 7 days, and that's a great time to do some extra one on one training, as he will have to be leash-walked for every potty-trip and exercise during that time.

keep an E-collar or a cervical collar on him to keep his tongue away from the incision; keep an eye on it, and if there is swelling, redness, or leaking, call the vet.

don't let him jump on furniture or people or leap about during the week post-desex; he could pop a stitch.

after that, he's good to go!

and BTW: clean up with an enzyme-based cleaner, JUST FOR pet-odors. anything else will leave enuf scent to bring him, or the other dogs, back to re-mark it.

Neutering will usually keep down the aggressive attendencies. If he is already marking, you need to sto pit soon before it becomes habit and he continues AFTER he's neutered. Take him in as soon as possible. The more he marks, the more he will mark later. The urge goes away, but like any habit, it is a royal pain to break.

Get all of his upheavals done with now and let him recoup and relax at home afterwards. :)

You CAN do it now. It will make his relationship with the other two easier and it'll stop the marking. Make sure that there isn't a "no-clip" clause in the papers you signed with the breeder, if you signed papers at all. Follow the vet's advice for what to expect and do after the surgery, and puppy should be fine.

Good luck and congrats on the newest member of your family.

He can be neutered anytime. If he is already marking his territory neutering him may not help. Usually the earlier it is done the less likely they are to even start marking. You may battle this all the time now. There should be no aggression afterwards,if he is aggressive now that may not change either.

If his testicles are distented, it's time to neuter him. Don't wait until he's at ease in the house, by that time, he'll have marked every spot in the house. I don't know what "aggression" you are referring to, unless your two older dogs aren't neutered that could cause some aggression. If they're not, get them neutered too.

At nine months the puppy is old enough to get neutered. the sooner you have it done the better the dog will be.

now now now its ok now and try to get him outside to potty and get those spots cleaned up or youll end up having a house full of dogs marking on top of each other. and contrairy to what most people think having a dog spayed and nutered is nothing but good for several health reasons and also mental

If you got him from a breeder... be careful. Did you sign any papers? Anything at all? They may have put a "no-clip" clause in there. Breeders do that sometimes.
