There are no cool bars in Bakersfield. When I have to come home to visit my family, I wind up going to the Elephant Bar for drinks. That's at Stockdale and ... Calloway? Somewhere in the SW part of town. There's a BJ's Brewery opening in a few months, but that doesn't help you now.

I have been to Bakersfield too many times and I don't believe there is anything cool there.

Can't help you there.
There's a reason why Bakersfield is considered the capital of California's "Bible Belt"...and it isn't because of happening nightlife.
