As Christians we must remain neutral and not put our trust in human rulers.(Psalms 146:3) Our allegiance is to Almighty God and his government only. The Bible says that man was not meant to rule over man. ( Ecclesiastes 8:9 ) We must obey the laws of governments as long as they do not conflict with God's laws. We must maintain the same position as Jesus' apostles: "But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men." (Acts 5:29)
Human governments will soon be put out of existance at Armegeddon and will be replaced by God's government which will rule over the entire earth. When you say the Lord's prayer and ask for God's Kingdom to come, that is what you are praying for.
The new government will last forever as seen at Daniel 2:44--"
"And in the days of these kings(current human rulers) the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever."
Christians should not put their trust or confidence in political governments that God will soon overthrow. We need to look to God's Kingdom as the only hope for all mankind.

Some do. Not all Christians believe that but some (crazy) ones do.
I'm guessing the reasoning behind that is that perhaps they're either not christian (or not "christian enough")? Maybe they don't attend church. Maybe they aren't "saved".
Though I don't believe that one has to be Christian, or go to church or believe in Jesus Christ to go to heaven.
I think it's more a sales pitch tactic that they use when they say something ridiculous as that. I think they try to get people not only to believe in God, but make people feel they have to join the "right" religion in order to get to heaven.

That is nonsense my late mother in law was a democrat and she was a strong believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and had him as her Savior and is in Heaven right now.
I know a few democrats that are Christians. What you probley are thinking is the liberal demorcrats that are not true Christians.

That is just baloney. Politics is all baloney. No, I don't think people believe that at all. Only the ignorant would even make such a statement. Laugh at them the next time they say it, and hey, I am a republican. I vote for the person.

Yes, they are. Don't worry Republicans too. actually worry I think we all are if that's the case.
Let's say this, if you walk up to be judged and are asked what political affiliation you were, be careful on the answer.
Seriously, anyone who said that doesn't know what they are talking about.

John 3:16 this goes for everybody, demos, repubs, str8s, gay, blacks, whites. Christians really should know that, and tell others, not spreading this "Your gonna go to Hell" stuff, that they have no control over. God will make His decisions, not you.

Some do. I think it is just another way to divide the country instead of bringing it together
