Compression and an ice pack generally help. I suggest you go see an ear, nose and throat Dr. My son had the blood vessel that was causing his problems cauterized and that was the end of his nose bleeds. Best thing he could have done.

Nose bleeds are usually caused by tiny blood vessels or capillaries in the nasal passages that for whatever reason start bleeding.
First thing to do is blow your nose, get rid of any clots in there...pinch bridge of your nose for about 10-15 minutes non stop
don't stop just to see if still bleeding.
After time is up. Release the pressure, bleeding should have stopped. You can also spray the nostrils with Afrin nasal spray. That is a vasoconstrictor and will help stop the bleeding.
Hope this helps.

my sister has the same problem. the lymph nodes are tiny vessels that carry all types of body fluids (exept pee of course) to other parts of your body. so when one breaks, nose bleeds are the most likely to happen because the lymph nodes are around your neck area.
