It is a norton application. If you have norton products installed on your system you will likely see this process running in the backgorund.

Its part of Norton anitvirus..

More specificly

"ccapp.exe" belongs to Norton AntiVirus, runs auto-protect and email checking facilities. "

How to turn off

This isnt a harmful program, and doesn't need to be turned off, however it does use a small portion of system memory so overall system performance could be improved, but wether or not it be noticeble is questionable.

Symantec Common Client CC App

That's bundled with all (or most) Symantec software so you probably have Norton AntiVirus.
