I go through the same thing, My son is 15 yrs old and when he brings his friends over, they are always coming up with excuses to come out of the basement and get some snacks and drinks when they really just come out of the basement to look at me. It is flattering but I think my son is catching on that the neighborhood boys come over for two reasons and one of those reasons is to look at me and have any excuse to conversate with me about absolutely nothing. Nothing you can do about it, just dont act on dating anyone under 18 and dont work on the process of going to jail. I normally wear nothing more than jeans and t-shirt. I think boys at that age have a fascination with large breasts and curvy hips. I am also only 18 yrs older than my son so I don't look like a worn shoe or Mrs Cleaver. I will date a younger guy but he has to be at least 21 yrs of age. Need to be able to have a drink or two out on the town.

Are you serious? Who in the hell wants to COMPETE with their mother? Teenagers have so many things to deal with, within their own age group, and you seriously can't figure out why this might cause a problem? As flattering as it may be for YOU, it has to be discouraging to her! Chill out and get excited when someone YOUR age thinks your hot! Support and encourage your daughter, be a MOTHER!

If you like being a hot mom to 16-20 year olds, you have a problem....and, your daughter knows it.

She feels like you are competition. Have you talked to her? Let her know that whenever you are out in public and she doesn't like people thinking you are sisters, she can call you Mom as loud and and as often as she likes.

teenagers do not want people to mistake their mothers as their sisters...she probably feels as though she is in competition with you especially if guys her age are trying to hit on you and debating which one they should talk to when you guys are together

sounds like shes afraid that if you too are out together and if she sees a guy she likes he wont be interested in her he will find you more attractive stealing the attention away from her. just a thought.

well you certainly sound... confident.
Perhaps she gets upset because instead of being there with her you are looking around at who is checking you out? Why are you trying to look like her sister?

I'd guess it's because, subconsiously, she feels threatened by you. She thinks you're going to 'take' everyone that's attracted to her.
Also, she's probably grossed out by it.
I know I would be.
