You spay a female, and you neuter a male. If you are doing that you're adding valuable years to your dog's life. Did you know that after your dog goes into heat for the first time, the chances of her getting uterine cancer increases? And every time your dog goes into heat, her chances of getting uterine cancer increases each time? My vet told me that, and I had a dog who died because she got uterine cancer due to the fact that my family did not spay her.
