Since all that is used on the frog are the legs you need to only cut them at the hips and fins and then peel the skin away. My neighbor and her sons go frog gigging all the time. I find the meat to be something akin to fishy chicken.

Frog Legs
Frog legs come from the chicken! Aw come on nah! Of course they're from frogs and those frogs are usually the marsh bull frog. You ain't lived unless you've been at the camp and heard those bad boys croak. Froggin' (hunting frogs) is a night time activity usually done in small jo-boats and pirogues. They're taken with a gig or with a looped-wire stick. The frog is then skinned, gutted and head removed. If the frog is big enough we eat the body too! Hey, don't waste nuttin round here. Frog actually tastes a little like chicken but better.

Gently place him in a bowl of luke warm (slightly salted) water and clean of any pond debris with a small paintbrush. Once he is spotlessly clean pop him into a pan of boiling water for 5 mins, then consume the legs with brown bread and butter and a glass of claret. Mon Dieu - magnifique!

I think the only good part is the legs, so chop them off, and skin them and then dip in egg and flour and fry... I think there is some nerve that you have to cut or they will jump out of the skillet though???

i am guessing he is not a pet......cooking.....and you need to ask someone that has cooked one in the past. cleaning a chicken does not make the chicken taste good. it it how you season it and time and temperature of the cooking method.

I find mildly soapy water works best and try not to get soap in their little eyes, as it makes them all cranky and......
Oh, not that kind of cleaning.
As Emily Laetella would say, "Never mind."
