I'm eleven and I'm sort of curious because MY VOICE SOUNDS LIKE A GIRL!!!!!!!!

Your vocal cords get longer as you age, giving you a deeper voice. Its sort of like piano wire - the longer the wire, the lower the note. But during puberty, the muscles in the vocal cords are in the process of stretching. Sometimes they spasm, causing them to tightening. Tightening makes the pitch go up - hence the cracks or squeaks that are destined to haunt your teens.

Don't worry, it will all be over someday and you'll go from a soprano to a tenor!

It's called maturity. These things happen to young men and it's embarrasing but I promise your voice will stop cracking and you'll get a mans voice.
