First of all, we are grouped in with MANY religions that claim to be but aren't Christian religions, like Catholism. Secondly, we are all judged as bigots, pushy, hateful, and every other name in the book just because they may have met one or two so called Christians that probably weren't real Christians at all that offended them. We don't go around trying to hurt people like some religions I could mention yet we seem to be hated more than they are. I'd just like to know why. No comedy please. Christians in defense are welcomed to respond, too.

Jesus said it's not the religion of the people that are hated it's him and his name! If it's something that others don't take the time to try ro understand of course there going to automatically go against it!

I am an atheist and I don't hate anyone. In fact my wife is christian and I love her very much. But I do think way too many christians tend to think that they are superior to non-christians. They make statements equating goodness and christianity, implying non-christians are evil. Others often find such bigoted arrogance offensive. Not all christians do this. Perhaps not even the majority, but I do see way too much of this. I have met far far more than one or two christians who do this by the way. I am sure most of them don't even realise that they do it. It has just been so ingrained in them.

I don't hate anyone, Christian or otherwise, but from what I've been reading in Y!A, it's probably the constant Bible quoting and threats of hell that upsets people. And when someone says something about it, the answer is always "but it's the Truth".
A truth is something that can be proven as a fact. A religion is based on faith.

I do believe in God, but I also have my own ideas about Him, as I am a free-thinking person. I know God wouldn't want me to push my beliefs on anyone. He wants one's own heart to want to believe in Him, not someone telling me that if I don't believe, I'll go to hell. And think about it, if someone doesn't believe in hell, how is telling him/her that they'll end up in it going to change anything?
How could one be thrown into something that doesn't even exist in his/her mind?

Spreading the word and teaching people God's way is one thing, but they have to come to you not the other way around. That's why God gave us free will.

Because Christians are telling people that they are filthy because they are human beings, that they deserve to go to hell, and that they can only be saved through Jesus. Christians do not aknowledge the lack of ethics and respect involved in this, and therefore go about disrespecting other people by insluting them with the previously mentioned irrational statements.....

By the way, Catholics, Mormons, and all other religions that worship Christ are technically Christians. Why? because they worship Jesus Christ....DUH? That is another misconception that many "Christians" have....

Some people hate Christians because of the bad track record of those who profess to be Christians. "Christians" meddle in politics. They justify why they go to war, although Jesus Christ said to love your enemies. They are guilty of heinous offenses against innocent children. They have an insatiable love for money. And they are quick to condemn others to hell if their way of worship is not followed.

I will say, though, that this is a description, not of TRUE Christians, but of counterfeit ones.

Good point. But, while I am not Catholic, Catholicism is a Christian religion. They meet the requirements to be deemed Christian. They are trinitarian and credal.
