Name: James
Origin: Hebrew
Meaning: Supplanter

Name: Jamie
Origin: Hebrew
Meaning: originates from the name James and so means the same but also means 'i love'

Personally i prefer the name Jamie ... it's so cute and i just feel like James is just so much more common.

James, as it is a proper name. Jamie is so non-commital, plus I know some really horrid children called Jamie. YUK!

Jamie - it is nice for a toddler and also for a man. my friends brother is James on his birth certificate but he gets called Jamie. he is now married, has 3 kids, loads of nieces and nephews and gets called Uncle Jamie. i think it is a name that grows with you.
