I know a girl by that name, and she's nice. The person makes the name, not the other way around.
But, some people name their kids after goofy stuff and saddle them with it for life. Geraldine is an old-fashioned name, but it's not goofy. She'll probably go by Gerri as a nickname.

I know a girl called geraldine, i think that it is a pretty name, old fasihion, but okay, she is a lovely person, and we call her Gar, her Maori name is Keritee. which is pretty too, cheers.
