my mom just went on a "strike" cause no one helps her out around the house? should i get grandma to help her?

Is there anything wrong with you that you can't help around the house? I would go on strike too if I had to do all the cleaning, cooking, and everything that is required to keep a home running. You didn't say if there are others besides you and your mother in the home, but if everyone pitches in and does their share no one is overworked. Try doing some of the chores yourself and don't expect everything to be done for you. Your mother is not your maid, cook, chauffeur, and laundress.

I hope you are just joking. You helping your mom would be the nicest thing you'd ever do for her. So, don't call grandma, she's done enough in her life already. Ask your mom what she'd like help with and then do it. Mom's deserve to go on "strike" once in a while.

I did the very same thing when my children were growing up. At first, my children laughed, but then they saw everything piling up. When I told them that they should choose to help me or they were going to be on their own. They would be forced to clean it without my help. They continued to ignore me. 2 wks. later, they had to do their own clothes. That was one lesson they learned real quick. We had a wet basement in an old farmhouse. The parts in my washer continuously rusted, so we did the laundromat. They had to do the laundromat themselves. And of course, I was not going to pay for it.
I can't believe that after a mom went on strike, a child would think to call grandma to come help. What are you thinking???

sounds like your mother does all the work , they also need breaks around the house ,sounds like you have been taking advantage of her show her how much you love and care for you , help her around the house , there is so much to do around the house start by helping her out even when not asked , help with cooking meals ! You should't get grandma to help. You should help your mom with things around the house. You have no idea how much she would appreciate whatever help you can give her. My oldest granddaughter even helps me when she can and she is only 11. She helps her Dad clean on the weekends.

HELLO get up off your butt & do stuff for them! Come on how would you feel if people did that to you? I go to my Moms & help her clean! I don't even live with her but I still help around the house. So turn off the computer & do something! NOW!

If you are old enough to lend a helping hand...DO IT!
Moms can go nuts with all the mess they have to pick up...Not just housework! Give mom a break once in a while...let her know that you hear her plea.

I have 5 children, my two-year old picks up after herself, makes her own bed, puts her dirty dishes in the sink, knows exactly where the hamper is for dirty clothes, cleans the table, etc..

Basically, if a 2-year-old can do it...SO CAN YOU!

help your mom out. i am sure that she has done tons of stuff to help you out. maybe you should take a look at that. when i was growing up i didn't now that i am a mom i know how much work is involved. start by doing the little things like picking up after yourself with out being asked. family is about working together.
