I recently had to restore my computer to factory defaults. I was told that I would not need any cd's to re-install the programs that came on my computer from the factory. However, whenever I go to open Microsoft Word (part of the Microsoft Office), it keeps asking me for my registration number again. I know I had the registration number a while ago, but have since lost the cd that it was on. Is there any recovery tool or something that I can recover my registration number? I do not want to have to purchase Microsoft Office all over again.

If you registered with Microsoft you may be able to call them. If not you may be able to call customer support for your computer and they may be able to help. If all else fails why not consider using a FREE replacement program like Open Office that can handle all Microsoft Office programs..You can download it here

Call the company that you bought the computer from. They should be able to send you the disks you need.
