Mixing whiskey is like mixing any other alcohol: it's fine, as long as you use common sense. Some mixtures will taste great, some will taste like crap, but aside from taste, alcohol is alcohol. Mixing with something with less (or no) alcohol will dilute the alcohol content; mixing with something stronger will increase the alcohol content.
Just keep in mind, drinking too much will make you sick, regardless of WHAT you're drinking, and it's NEVER a good idea to mix alcohol with drugs, especially prescription drugs.

Yeah, whiskey tastes better with coke ... safe to mix.

Yeah it is but why the hell do you wanna mix it (I'm assuming for example that you want to mix say Teachers with Johnny Walkers - your question is not too clear) Leave it and drink the separate brands. Would you mix wines or beers?
