Two unwelcome consequences of over-prescribing antibiotics are increased exposure can lead a person to develop an allergy to antibiotics rendering them useless when they're needed and the more frequently they're used, the quicker bacteria develop into antibiotic resistant strains like the scary new staph and tuberculosis infections.
