Omnipotence is paradoxial in nature.

If he can make such a mountain, then he cannot lift it.
If he cannot, then, well, he cannot.

Either way, there is something that he can't do, and it is the simplest and most popular question to ask Christians because it takes their belief and ties it in a knot. They will try to defend this, saying that making such a thing is illogical and not possible in this world - however, all they are doing is redirecting the inadequateness to another area.

If he cannot do anything illogical, then it's something he can't do, right? Why would he supposedly create a universe, then limit himself to the rules within it?

My answer is yes, he can. The only escape from this paradox is to say that God made the universe then trapped himself inside it - he has clearly already made something more powerful than himself.

It says in the book of John that Jesus was the Word that created everything to begin with...so, no, He could not make a mountain that He couldn't move if He wanted to...but He doesn't make a habit out of moving those kind of mountains...probably because He put them in the right place to begin with....He moves other types of mountains all the time...like the mountains of misery in people's lives when they turn to Him for help, guidance and direction.

Jesus was just a jewish guy- he never claimed to be the son of God- so probably not unless he used a lot of concrete? or like systematically built a mountain out of ........ no wait .... hey.... have a look at www.richarddawkins.net and a good read of "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. For a good explination of the murderous and horendous history of christianity, try "Talisman" by Graham Hancock or "The Second Messiah" by Knight and Llomas.......

The clear answer to your question is this:

God gave us the ability to THINK and the ability to make decisions of our own free will. Part of the deal is the fact that we are responsible for the consequences of our actions/decisions.

Now, the ability to think also gives us the ability to create (or copy) a paradox. And the ability to use the paradox to support or debunk something (ie, to use the paradox to confuse the issue).

Yes, I believe we all recognize that you've copied and posted a paradox.

Why would HE?
If 4 eyewitness accounts of HIS life are not enough for you to believe HE was and IS who HE said, then any further miracles are pointless.
The fact is - you don't want to believe because it would make you uncomfortable. Your pride is getting in the way. You and others will make excuses for not believing because you say Jesus hasn't proved himself to you personally. Has any other historical figure proven him or her self to you? Michelangelo? Copernicus? Newton? Jefferson? Barton? Curie? I thought not.

Mountains move by them self. But He has created other things that have no remedies, Aids, Cancer, MS, etc.
