I've some young 4 week old kittens & Mum's milk has run low & so I'm topping them up using a kitten gloop recipe.
I've read about the beneficial properties of honey & how good it can be BUT I've also read that honey should not be given to babies because it can contain a spore of the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. This can cause a rare form of food poisoning (botulism) in babies.
So, what I wondered was ... is it safe to use with kittens?

Just to clarify - Kitten Gloop has been around a long time as an emergency kitten milk & is recommended by some breeders - especially as a first weaning food for young kittens. Golden syrup or light corn syrup is one of the ingredients. I'd heard wondrous things about the benefits of honey & was just wondering if I could subsititue honey for the syrup ... so far, I think the consensus is that I can't.

You have researched and effectively answered your own question. REally, Good Job.
The clostridium in kittens is a bit different...it's perfringens instead of botulinum, but the botulin toxin could still cause flaccid paralysis if they get it. The bigger concern is that the sugars in honey would be a great food for spirochetes which can easily kill small kittens with toxins and damage to the g.i. tract.
The safest thing for the kittens would be to get some KMR (kitten milk replacer) and then start to mix some wet cat food like Iam's or hill's science diet into it. (stay away from cat foods with sillier names than kid's cereal.).
You may also need to mix in some plain yogurt with active cultures maybe once a week. You'll see that this regimen will prevent the "kitten scours" or bad weanling diarrhea by balancing the types of protein. It's the bacteria that will hurt them!
Good luck and please no honey for the honeys.

I have only helped birth one set of kittens in my life. A foster cat that was not doing well at the shelter, so I took her. She did the same thing yours is doing so I left her bed and the kennel, door off, in a storage room where she didn't have many options. She would move them everyday from the bed to the kennel and back again. She did it for about a week, we stayed away and did not handle the kittens, we fed the mama, Allie, very quietly and then all of a sudden she chilled. It was almost like she thought we were a predator at the time and once she trusted us she was totally different. Good luck, hope this helped.

Kittens don't eat honey!!! Go out and buy some KMR (kitten milk replacement) as this will most resemble the natural milk from their mother instead of concocting your own formula.

You should start by not wanting to get pregnant, just have sex everyday or every other day and don't think about getting pregnant, just have fun with your partner. Get more useful information and guides to get pregnant here https://tr.im/Rvbwq
after sex-put a pillow under your butt or prop your feet up on the wall so your pelvis is tilted
eat healthy
back off caffiene
workout, even if its just a 20 minute walk a day, be active.

no: clostridium botulinum is a live bacteria and should not be given to any animails, or babies. Sugar should not be given to aniamls either because they could die.
