Search by title under "karaoke" or "midi." karaoke sites sell broadway and popular music tracks but may have background vocals dubbed in. midi file search sites are pure music without vocals or lyrics, but many have run into copyright issues so some of these are shut down.

I don't know any sites where you can get accompanyment free. If you want to accompany an instrument [and I suppose it would work for singing too] you might like to consider buying Band- in -a -Box. It is rather expensive but well worth it.

No lyric-much less rock is coming to my suggestions, yet i will advise a number of my widespread classical music. i like the Pathetique Sonata via Beethoven (i think this is Sonata no.8, Op.13), The ceremony of Spring and The Firebird via Stravinsky, Symphony Fantastique via Berlioz, Partita for Flute in A Minor (BWV 1013) via Bach, The Moldau via Semtana, The Planets via Holst.
