PERSONALITY is most important. HONESTY and TRUST are crucial. STABILITY even if a man doesn't make alot is so important - a man who "gambles" with his life scares me..... I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'd rather live in a tiny apt with a man I love rather than a mansion with one I hate! Looks are not that important - but features are.. like if the eyes are sexy, smile is nice... there are some men out there who are "butt ugly" who have beautiful wives... because they find certain things about them attractive over general appearance. A man who can make his woman feel special and truly loved is the most handsome man of all! That's what I want!!!!!!!!

Looks and chemistry/personality usually get the first notice.
Then she'll check out your possibilities for security.
Women are archaic in their ways of selection and attraction, just as you men are, but, culture and environment plays a hand at how we pick and choose also.
There is just no definitive on the basics other than trying to see things from the archaic viewpoint: Can he provide for us and our children? Does he seem like someone to grow old with? Is he a good person, son, friend etc.? Is he a 'tribe' leader? Does he seem like someone who will conquer or divide?
Women still, deep down, hope for the king's son or the prince charming, or the knight in shining armour that has all those winning qualities. To each her own prince out there.
Be one and you'll find your maiden. ;)

personality is the most important thing in a man if you can get along with the guy then nothing else should matter. Personality should mean everything and if the guys is good looking as well then thats a bonus but its not important

personality is a must for me - how can you live with someone you dont understand or get along with? The man I fall for must be a hard worker too. Not saying that I will rely on him for everything but I would much rather be with someone who is not scared of working hard for the things they have instead of a man who is lazy and expects everything handed to him on a plate.
the most important thing in a relationship is respect and that works both ways in my opinion.

Personality every time for me, I can provide for myself, but I need some one who has a sense of humour, the ability to admit mistakes, and just enjoy life, you only get one, looks would be an advantage.

If i had to choose then i'd go for 'Personality'..who wants to be living in luxury with an old bore, i'd much sooner be happy with a person i loved and be poor...Personality =Love and that's the richest and finest gift of all...

personality/getting along with each - like one of the other responders said. I can provide for myself. Decent looks (I surely don't want to be looking muttly in the face every day) help, but I have to be able to get along with my partner, no matter what my age.
