c'mon people, let's hear some of your individual theories, or just what you believe happens when we die.

personally, i'm a fan of unhappy endings, so a part of me believes that we wake up, and everything is completely dark. we can not hear, speak, or see, and we are stuck in this place forever.

I can't believe somebody said there's no such thing as good people! Of course there are!! Yes people "sin" but that doesn't make them bad....I'm pretty sure everybody has stolen something in their life (even if it was just a biscuit from their little sister). Does this make them a bad person? No! And I personally hate the idea of heaven and he'll. I don't think anybody is ever evil enough to suffer forever in hell! Maybe a long time but not eternity!!! And as for only Christians getting into he'll I think it's insane! I am a good person and I certainly don't deserve to rot in hell despite being agnostic. I was born in an atheist family, I never turned from the Christian god, I just never turned to him either. And think of people born in countries where Christianity is not commonly believed.....do those whole countries go to hell because of the way they were brought up? If so, that's cruel and horrible! I have never minded Christianity but heaven/hell is one aspect I've always hated!

when we die our plasma/soul /spirit leaves the body usually via the mouth
our cuardian angel then escorts it into heaven or hell depending on our loves /hates as embodied by our good or bad deeds
evil people awake in the darkness depending of the quality of thier evil
vanity sins for egsample into a twilight and especially vile evil such as d-evil whoreshippers end up in the darkest hells

of the heavens those that go there have reported that they emerge into a lit area much as morning light for those specificlly unknowing of god or religion they emerge into the light in a desert area ,those who have good works into a grassy lit area better works into a flower garden etc
each good deed thought action creates a link into heavens and each bad a link that draws us into hell
the over all weight of our own good and our own love of evil draws us up or down accordingly
there is no judgement as such but we must face our own created demons to rise out of hell or inmto the higher levels of heaven
we do this by doing good unto others and resquing repentant souls from hell

nothing happens, the lights go out, our brains shut down, our bodies decay and then we start on our long journey of appreciation of eternity- a very long time indeed during which we fail to exist on any level of consciousness. It's an inability to cope with this concept that forced humans to create delisciously wishful thinking concepts like "heaven" or "hell" or "rebirth"- dream on people....... Hamlet says it all.......
but if you're bored with or don't understand Hamlet, why not try "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins..... and www.richarddawkins.net

The electrochemical activity in your brain ceases, and along with it goes your consciousness.

Then you'll never have to read another answer presented in full capitals or copied from someone's 8-page thesis.

When I was a christian I pictured the eternal heaven thing. Now I think "nothing" happens. Since I was raised with a vision of heaven, it was hard to imagine "nothing" for a while. But, I can imagine "nothing" BEFORE I was born...so imagining it after I die isn't that much of a stretch.

We'll just have to find out, won't we?

My guess is that when the last synops fires in my brain, all conciousness will cease. The end.

We pass thru the doorway between this life and into the moment of God's judgement of our actions/decisions.

When you die everybody is surprised, except you, and if you take a peek and see ppl crying then you will be unhappy, because you are not one of them.

i believe that we are met upon death by our loved ones who have passed before us
i believe we are taken to a realm of spirit suitable for our spiritual progression this far
we can progress from there of course
and eventually join with the God energy that we came from .. and from which new souls are born xx
