Thanks katsu - We need to keep this issue fresh in people's minds and not let it die down. Election day is not far off. We need to remember how these illegals are abusing our tax-paid assistance programs.

They do not belong here. They would do more good in their own countries fighting for better conditions than living off of us. Even if it takes many generations for things to make a turn for the better, it would be better than what they are doing now. Our ancestors fought to make our country what it is today. It all didn't happen instantly. It took generations!! They should be denied jobs, welfare and housing. They will leave when they can't survive here. By necessity, they will be forced fight for their own country.

I know that if it were my country I would be there in the thick of the protests and battles, but that is just me, I am not of Mexican descent.
The problem is that they have found a comfortable life here in our country, and have no wish to do anything for the country they abandoned or the families they left behind.
Better to watch it on the television or read about the strife and turmoil in the newspapers. It.s safer that way. Stay in America, do nothing about the problems in Mexico. Be sure to show Mexican pride at every opportunity while living comfortably in America.

I have been keeping up with that,I think an American journalist was killed there yesterday

Leftist demonstrators demanding the ouster of Gov. Ulises Ruiz have blockaded streets for months and claim the state government has sent gunmen and thugs to provoke them.
On Saturday the protesters fortified their positions, piling sandbags and parking large trucks and buses across roads leading into the center of the city.
Teachers union leader Daniel Rosas said protesters claim that 4,000 federal police officers had arrived in Oaxaca.
At one radio station protesters had taken over, men were seen removing broadcast equipment. It's unclear where the equipment was headed.

At least they are staying in Mexico and fighting for their rights. I can respect that a lot. Great post Ruby ,thank you for the link.
Very good answer JCWhite

Wouldn't illegal Aliens in the USA
have more reason to feel proud of themselves
by Fighting For Their "Rights" In Their Own Nation
To Ensure The Prosperity Of Their Descendents ?

You go girl... Keep getting Americans (& Mexicans for that matter), thinking about what a mess America has gotten into. We need more people to speak out on this horrific invasion. This has nothing at all to do with racism... If we remain quiet, this will continue. People think we are singling out the Mexicans; but... the reason is because they have such easy access to this country. Keep up the good work!!!

It would appear they have no national pride in their own country. It is easier / weaker to cut and run from a bad situation.

By coming to America illegally they have already proven they take the easy way in life by (1) Rather than standing up for themselves and demanding a better life in their homeland. (2) Coming here legally by filling out the necessary paperwork and waiting their turn.

What, are you quite insane?

The "battles" in Oaxaca are between an extremist left wing criminal terrorist group, the APPO and a totally corrupt and murderous state government.

I don't think there is any decent person on this Earth that could "feel proud of themselves" by joining up with such criminals!

Yeah I admire the teachers in Mexico who are fighting for better pay. It's irritating when ignorant people keep saying why Mexicans don't "fix" their own problems, when Mexican teachers and poor farmers (not the rich ranchers) have always tried to fight for justice in Mexico, but the Mexican gov't keeps pushing them down, with the help of greedy American companies.

I will fight their protests until they become LEGAL citizens. All of my money is not going towards people who are not citizens of this country. I am all for people come here to better their lives but do it leagally.

yes They should improve conditions in their own country if they are so unhappy with them. If they want to come to the US there are provisions and proper channels. If they are here illegally then they are criminals that have yet to be apprehended.
