I've been there. I was ordering mine from internet pharmacies and spending tons of money. Worse was that I didn't feel right without them. I'd get depressed and have no energy. I was taking 10-15 hydrocodone a day. I found a doctor that prescribes Suboxone, which is used to treat addiction to painkillers. The effect was dramatic and fast. I didn't go through withdrawal and I didn't, and still don't, crave them anymore. For more information go to www.Suboxone.com. There are links to doctors in your area who can help. Best of luck.

I feel like I can't get through the day happily...........Are you really happy? or is it a chemically induced euphoria? I was once hooked on Percodan for back trouble. I refused to get a needed spinal fusion, and the addiction eventually got so out of control I had to make the decision to stop in order to have the surgery. That was hell. Opiates are hard to give up. I had to move out of state to get away from easy access, and wean myself off them. I was hooked on cocaine powder in the 80's, and kicking that was easy by comparison. You will need to see a doctor because you will need anti-seizure medication, and a very limited amount of xanax or Valium, but don't trade one addiction for another. If you have a lot of vomiting, be sure to drink a lot of Pedialyte to replenish you electrolytes and potassium. I wish you the best. Once you get off them, and have a clear mind, you will see they weren't your friend after all, but a sneaky demon that had you fooled.

Maybe you should check into a rehab or get help. You should try to go without pills for one day, see if that helps and take it one day at a time. You can even go see a therapist or some sort of doctor. I hope that this really helped.

Contacting NA (Narcotics Anonymous) is a good start. The folks at NA have been where you are. They aren't going to judge you. They'll have good suggestions on local options for treatment in your area. Try Googling "Narcotics Anonymous YourCity" to find groups in your area.
The fact that you're even asking about this means that you want something better for yourself. That's MORE than half of the battle. Hang in there and believe that things will be better.

Maybe you should seek some help because it is very difficult to get off pain killers, trust me I know. Maybe you should try tramdol. It is a nonnartoic pain killer. I use to take percot, and to get off of it was hard but the tramodol works like a miracle, without the wired side effects. Talk to your doctor. Good luck it is very hard but if you put you mind to it you can do it.

Pain pills are very difficult to quit. You need a Doctors help and maybe a family members help.My Mom was hooked on them for 30 years and almost died from them many times. My sister got tuff and took my Mom to a counselor who put my Mom on antianxiety pills to help her and counseled her.But you have to be strong too because your body wants those drugs and your body will make you think you are in much more pain than you are, muster up your strength and seek medical help.Good luck.

Go to your hospital and tell them what is happening. Be honest to them and yourself. You are probably addicted and need to be admitted for Detox. Talk to your family, friends, minister or someone you can take with you. You are going to need a lot of support. You can do this though and have your days back to yourself. Don't let this addiction ruin you or your life and family.
Best of Luck to you and I will be thinking of your progress. Hope it works out well for you.

you need to wean yourself from all opiate meds. If you are taking other drugs such as benzo's then you must withdraw under medical supervision. Benzo withdrawl is dangerous. It can lead to seizures EVEN DEATH!!! I would say it may a good route for you to go in for in patient detox. If that dies not work, I would think substitute therapy may work for you. first though, you'll need a detox, groups and therapy http://www.oasas.state.ny.us/pio/needhlp.cfm#
