Do you know how to tell if someone is a TRUE Prophet?

The Word says that people want to have their "ears tickled".
"Don't prophesy unto us hard things, tell us smooth things."
They HATED all the Prophets. They killed the Prophets.
Because they told them what they DIDN'T want to hear!

If what they say in not true, then they are a false prophet.

It is important to know the tests of a prophet. Without these tests one can easily be deceived. Christ said many false prophets would come. Detecting the true from the false is essential.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world 1 John 4:1

1. To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Isaiah 8:20

Does what they say contradict the Word of God, which is the standard and the final authority?

Do they practice what they preach?

When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him

3. Do their predictions come true?

But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort 1 Corinthians 14:3
