One of the biggest misconceptions about Islam is that the punishment for apostating is death. The most important point to understand here is that there are conditions to it. To give a simple analogy, if you know that a person is a traitor, such that he is spreading lies about you and revealing your secrets, then he is actually helping the enemy. In essence, everyone understands that, in any country in the world a traitor is put to death.
Now please, those who have this misconception should read the article below:
http://www.islamnewsroom.com/content/view/92/26/
This article has been written by a former Protestant Christian preacher, who is a Texan, and is now a Muslim. He mentions that when he decided to convert (long story, read at http://www.islamtomorrow.com ), this question was one of the biggest concerns.

crazy_s, don't go bonkers, read history, don't let yourself be _told_ history. See is it the muslims who have murdered and forced people to convert to Islam or christians (e.g, crusaders) who murdered and forced people to convert.

What Islam teaches in it is writings, and what it does in prepare are no longer continually the comparable factor. in actuality that for the period of many Muslim international places absolutely everyone seems to be killed for leaving the religion, that's no longer concept,it is actuality.in many Muslim international places absolutely everyone seems to be killed for even preaching yet another faith, via fact if the tenets of that different faith are diverse than in Islam, that itself is considered conversing out against Islam, back no longer concept yet actuality. Western Muslims are very prepared on telling us "Islam would not show this or that",yet to make certain what Islam brings to the table it is greater considerable to look at what Islam is in prepare. so which you seem to the place Islam holds the main sway, and see what existence is like there, for believer and non-believer alike. So we seem to Iran,Saudi Arabia and so on. And wager what,if we fee human rights,if we fee freedom,if we fee tolerance,we regularly do unlike what we see interior the international that "Islam" has to grant. In u . s . of america we've spent an prolonged time attempting to decrease the impact of religion interior the working of the rustic. The combat is lots from over, and fairly frankly we've had some setbacks. yet many human beings understand that issues are often greater efficient while faith has as little impact outdoors the Church partitions as achievable. it is although no longer authentic in many Islamic international places, the place non secular regulation and Governing regulation are often one and the comparable. often preferable to Opression of many, and Human Rights abuses galore,it is in basic terms an consumer-friendly actuality. Well good. I feel a little bit better, but (from a non-muslim point of view) I still feel that there is a lot of anger somehow directed at non-muslims. Maybe you could take Islamic studies at University and become an educator?

All this is well and good but when are the muslims going to be honest with themselves first and then with the rest of the world.
muslims care so much about their secrets being leaked out but do not care about killing infidels and taking their land and women for their own. Look at history and see how islam has hurt millions of people.
Is there anywhere it states that those who are not muslims have no right to live freely in this world?
When are you going to stop the killing of innocent people, pack your bags and go back to saudi arabia, your natural home and give our stolen land and property back.
Where does it say in human nature that you can kill infidels and take what is theirs and make it yours?
Muslims are sinners. They care about themselves but have no respect for anyone else.
Who do muslims think they are?

Wow thanks for clearing that up... I was thinking that there were these 2 towers in the city of New York that were in the "heart of the infidel" that killed more than three thousand people... it is good to know that did not happen and it was not because we refuse muhammed or your religion..

were those 3000 any better than few hundred thousands of heroshima or nagasaki or for that matter 100,000 iraqi ones.
if all souls are equal then 3000 as sad as it is, is far less than 100,000.
