Modern medicine has allowed so many defectives to live that our gene pool is now poisoned with rampant disease. People with chronic debilitating diseases of a hereditary nature should not breed.

Not under any circumstance. God gives life and only He should take it away. Today's defective (by whose definition) would soon become society's' "inconvenient" lifeforms. We become enraged when we read of the murders in the death-camps or the tragedies of abusing the Tuskegee Airmen in experimentation. Why would we be any more remorseful if we become so jaded that we just kill the inconvenient ones., God help us all.

Most miscarrages are fetuses that have too many defects to be viable. As far as euthanasia, I suppose it wouldn't be too far from just getting an abortion. If I became pregnant and knew that the fetus in me was going to have some horrible malformation or disease, I would have it aborted, mainly for the sake of the fetus. It's hard enough growing up as a normal kid.

I wouldnt support any form of euthanasia ,Its not our decision to make it is Gods decision,if a fetus is born with a disease then God had a reason for the birth. Some of the sweetest people i know are genetically diseased and am definitly glad i know them,God doesnt make everyone perfect for a reason

Very often when a women has a miscarriage, it is the body's way of getting rid of a "defective" fetus. While I understand your point, is it really fair to say that people with a genetic disorder should not have children? I don't know, I go back and forth myself.

Gosh, the Nazis said is just as well as you did... only you said it in English. Say hello to der Furer for me.....

Seriously. I thought that Eugenics was discredited loooong ago, about the time that the world figured out what the Nazis had done!

And the term "defectives..." I flunked calculus... does that make me defective? I have small arm muscles... defective? What if my IQ is "low" -- what number do you set in order to kill that person?

Would you kill Beethoven? Would you kill Steven Hawking? Just who do you kill?

Obviously your Mother didn't.

While I agree that people who will produce children with serious defects should not breed; do you really want to give the Government that decision making authority?
What starts as limits will soon become quotas.
We need 10,000 downs syndrome babies this year to meet our goal... 25,000 autistics...
