coming from a pope who by the way helped instigate the unforgivingly bloody crusades in the name of Jesus.you would think that he should be more worried about teaching his followers that little boys and girls are off limits huh? how many priests is it now? have any idea?your case is pathetic.just like the christian to be concerned about someone elses life when they look in the mirror.dont like the image you see huh?that's called catharsis.but that's OK. you are witnessing the dawn of a new age.and your displeasure is natural.like they say the truth has a bitter taste indeed.so sit back and watch as Islam continues to take wayward Christians with open arms.its OK if you let off a little steam on Y.A. we all do.

No, he wasn't. The people that the Byzantines oppressed happily converted to Islam, and those that didn't were given religious freedom under their newfound Islamic empire. That emperor was speaking out of envy and spite (as at that time, the Muslims were kicking their butt, so to speak). Islam was not spread by the sword -- ask any History professor that.

I think its hypocritical of the Catholics to bring up a quote from the byzantines, since they went on ahead to launch the crusades.

poor taste. poor judgement.

yes ibrahim im sure thats what you would all like us to think...
fact is that today its the same and id like to see an islamic state today tolerant to others, for an example id like to see a new church or synagogue built in riad or islamabad and these countrys welcoming other faiths to come live and work like many democratic states do....
statements like yours are just sad pathetic and very dangerous, because no one knows exactly whats going on in muslim nations and you make it sound all nice and fuzzy when truth is islam is violent and anti-everything ..
