help. i also have a hard time talking to him infront of my friends. its easier one on one. any ideas why that might be.

If u have hard time talkin in front of your friends then u should talk to him in person also talk about casual stuffs like wats goin on this this weekend wat does he like and how he is studying just got to control over your nervousness...
I had the same problem as urs ..one of my clasmate liked me ..i liked him too..but i was so nervous that when he came to talk i would walk away saying i got something to do. My friends told me that he liked me so it was kinds nervous thing for me too..and then he left the school and left the place..but still when i look back now..i dont think i ever loved a person like i did love him
Right now i m casual wid guys..but wats the use i lost him forever

Talking to him doesn't mean you have to have a long drawn-out conversation. Think of questions to ask. For instance, if he's in one of your classes, you can ask him things like, "How is your essay going?" And make you ask open ended questions. Questions that can't be answered yes or no.
