You can argue that he was bored but for that answer to be true, god can not be omniscient, otherwise creating the universe would be an exercise in futility.

You're right. If you're God, and things have been going fine for eternity all by yourself, it does seem a strange thing to do on a whim. It would be sacriligious to think that he suddenly got bored. I reckon it must mean he doesn't exist. Aw.
