The Devil is skilled at exploiting such feelings in his attempt to turn people away from God. Recall Bildad’s words to Job: “How can mortal man be in the right before God, or how can one born of a woman be clean? Look! There is even the moon, and it is not bright; and the stars themselves have not proved clean in his eyes. How much less so mortal man, who is a maggot, and a son of man, who is a worm!” (Job 25:4-6; John 8:44) Can you imagine how demoralizing those words must have been? So do not let Satan dishearten you. On the other hand, be aware of Satan’s designs so that you will have the courage and stamina to fight all the harder to do what is right. (2 Corinthians 2:11) As for Job, even though he had to be corrected, Jehovah rewarded his endurance by restoring to him in double measure all that he had lost.—Job 42:10.

Admittedly, it can be difficult to quell feelings of discouragement if these are deeply ingrained. Yet, Jehovah’s spirit can help you progressively to overturn “strongly entrenched things . . . raised up against the knowledge of God.” (2 Corinthians 10:4, 5) When negative thoughts threaten to overwhelm you, ponder the apostle John’s words: “By this we shall know that we originate with the truth, and we shall assure our hearts before him as regards whatever our hearts may condemn us in, because God is greater than our hearts and knows all things.”—1 John 3:19, 20.

What is meant by the phrase “God is greater than our hearts”? At times, our heart may condemn us, especially when we become painfully aware of our imperfections and shortcomings. Or it may be that because of our background, we have an inordinate tendency to think negatively of ourselves, as if nothing we do could be acceptable to Jehovah. The apostle John’s words assure us that Jehovah is greater than that! He sees past our mistakes and perceives our real potential. He also knows our motives and intentions. David wrote: “He himself well knows the formation of us, remembering that we are dust.” (Psalm 103:14) Yes, Jehovah knows us better than we know ourselves!
There is another lie that Satan has effectively used—the lie that Jehovah neither loves us nor values us. Satan has had thousands of years to study imperfect humans. He well knows that discouragement can weaken us. (Proverbs 24:10) Hence, he promotes the lie that we are worthless in God’s eyes. If we are “thrown down” and become convinced that Jehovah does not care about us, we may be tempted to give up. (2 Corinthians 4:9) That is just what the great Deceiver wants! How, then, can we guard against being deceived by this satanic lie?

Personally take to heart what the Bible says about God’s love for us. God’s Word uses some touching word pictures to assure us that Jehovah notices us and loves us as individuals. He puts your tears in his “skin bottle,” meaning that he sees and remembers the tears you shed in your struggle to remain faithful. (Psalm 56:8) He knows when you are “broken at heart” and is near to you at such times. (Psalm 34:18) He knows every detail about you, including the number of “the very hairs of your head.” (Matthew 10:29-31) Above all, God “gave his only-begotten Son” in your behalf. (John 3:16; Galatians 2:20) At times, you may find it difficult to believe that such scriptures apply to you personally. We must, however, take Jehovah at his word. He wants us to believe that he loves us not only as a group but as individuals.

18 Recognize and reject the lie. If you know that someone is lying, you can protect yourself against being deceived. So, too, just knowing that Satan wants you to believe the lie that Jehovah does not love you can in itself be a powerful help. One Christian said: “I never realized that Satan tries to use my feelings to discourage me. Knowing this gives me the motivation to fight these feelings."
When you feel discouraged, and this is one of the biggest tools Satan uses, remember to PUSH. Pray Until Something Happens! Pray to Jehovah and ask him for the help and strength that you need in your situation. And remember that, the more Satan picks on you- the more you must be doing right!!
Also, remember who your associateions are. ( Rom. 16:17,18, 1 Cor. 15:33) Keeping your group of friends limited to those who only upbuild you spiritually and are not ones that say one thing and act in another way when they get the chance is a very important way to stay strong spiritually.
I commend you on your steps to strengthening yourself spiritually! I know it can be hard, especially with all of the things that Satan has to throw at you. But , knowing that a grand reward awaits you should help you in your endeavor.

It has been my experience repeatedly that when I am growing in faith and growing closer to God that God's enemy attacks me, yes.

What Satan does is exploit whatever weakness or blind spot you have. For me, Satan attacks my pride, and tries to make me think that I am more than I am. Satan may be attacking your sense of guilt, and making you feel that you are not going to Heaven, because this may be a particular weakness or blind spot for you.

The good news is that God always has the answer, and always has the strength. That is, when I find myself beginning to become blinded by my pride, I ask God for humility, and he shows me--again--exactly who I am, and exactly who I am not. He reminds me that there is only one perfect and powerful one, and that I ain't it.

If you go to God and ask him that he gird you in your faith that Christ's death on the cross atoned for your sins and offered you complete absolution, then God will most likely provide this knowledge to you. Do it as many times as is necessary.

It is a great gift to be aware of how God's enemy may tempt you. You are "ahead of the game" if you realize that one entryway he may have into your soul is by convincing you that Christ's mercy is conditional.

Best to you, sister.

absolutly. He will do anything he can to seperate you from the Lord. But the main thing we can do is just listen to the voice of truth. out of all the voices screaming confusing, and not so good thoughts, listen to the quietest one. You'll know who, and what it is. God loves you, and he will do anything, far beyond humanly possible, to hold you tight, far away from Satan. Now what you have to do, is take complete surender, and trust in the Father to give you complete saticfaction

God Bless :)

oh yes Satan will try to steal the word from you he will always try to put doubt in your life because the doubt cancels out your faith this is why it is important to keep on your Armor of God. The closer you get to God the more satan and his demons will try and come against you but don't worry if you have Christ in your heart and in your life no weapon formed against you will prosper.

Oh Lord YES!!!

The more a person believes in God the more the devil will attack them to try to turn their hearts away from and win their souls from God.

I often worry about those who aren't under attack because if you aren't under attack then the devil may not have to work very hard to turn you away from God.

It's God's faithful servants the devil has to work the hardest against.

I just pray that for every attack the devil launches against me; one more soul will escape his notice and find their way to God and Heaven.

Hi,
I prayed for you this morning. This verse came to mind:
"Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths."

Satan is always on the attack. It is spiritual warfare.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up agings the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ." 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5

To you can "take every thought captive" and also Pray that God will protect your thoughts and prayers.

There is a good study that is put by Precept Ministries called "Lord is it Warfare, Teach Me to Stand" it can be found at:
Precept.org

I have been doing precept bible studies for a little over a decade now. It is a great way to study. On that same website it will list any ongoing bible studies in your area.

Hope this helps! God Bless

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
in addition to all taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. Galatians 6:1-17

The enemy greatest tool is the "power of suggestion". If satan can make you think youre not delivered and, the righteousness of GOD he's won. That s why its up to us to " Be ye transformed by the renewing of you mind" ( Romans 12:2). Keeping in mind, despite our feelings that we are "NEW CREATURE" IN Christ.
