There are many online translators out there, however, in my years of studying French (nearly 6), I've found that they are very ineffective. They don't usually distinguish between two words that are spelled the same but have drastically different meanings. If you're looking for a quick and easy translation, then sure, go for those, but be cautious of the mistakes that can be made, especially if this is for school. Although it will be more time consuming, if you find a French professor at a local college or university, I'm sure they'd be very willing to help you. You'll definitely get more accurate results that way.

Well, apart from Babelfish and other translation stuff, you can go on the French Yahoo! If it's not too long, that is. Or even on the American one. A lot of people go there and are happy to translate things.
