They might, but they might just be wondering why their cat friend is locked in another room and trying to get your attention to tell you about it.

They know. And let the father be with her. He will get real upset. Is there a reason you're keeping her away from the rest if they normally get along?
You'll know she getting ready if you want to keep them separated but they won't hurt her.

She'll have labored breathing, like heavy panting. She'll go to where she's chosen to have them.

I put a towel over a desk stuck inside the drawer to keep it there. I put towels and a couple items with my smell on them that I didn't care about loosing. (blood) I put her in there a couple times and that's where she had them. They want a hidden area, away from noise and intrusion. Can you make a place in you bedroom or closet like that?

Then when she starts or you have to leave, put her in there and close it off from the others if you're concerned. But let the father have access to her as long as you're around.

He wants to be with her, understandably so.

Answer above? These are domestic cats, not african lions. Call your vet if you're unsure of what to do.

I had the same thing happen with my cats! The father is crying because he wants to be with the mother! I had separated the mother and the father and they wanted to be together. I had put a blanket under the bed and they both went there. The father watched over the mother. You should let the father be with the mother!!

Yes they know. Cats do have keen senses but they also speak to each other. You and I can't hear it. They are telepathic you know.

I own cats and I once owned a bird. One day one of my cats got too close to the bird and the bird pinched her real hard. She screamed and went running in the kitchen. Seconds later her mother came running in from the kitchen and went straight to the bird. She was gonna attack the bird. She new that it was the bird that hurt her daughter because her daughter told her. I couldn't believe what I had seen but it was cool.

Now as far as the male cat that is the father, don't worry about him. Male cats don't kill their own. She hasn't been cheating on him has she? If they are his, he'll be fine.

Like I said I own cats. We started out with only one, a male named Urza. Then we got Mirri. And we were stupid and didn't get them neutered or spayed. They had a litter of six. We kept all of them except two. Found homes for them. Then we made another mistake of only getting the boys neutred. The two females got out one day and found boyfriends. Two more litters. surprisingly Urza accepted them as his own. Of course he was always good with kittens. He took care of Mirri when she was a kitten. He watched over her first litter and took care of them. He bathed them and slept with them. He did the same with Mirri's litter and his daughter's litter. Stray kittens have come to the house and he liked them. He is a great father.

My neighbor's cat brought his kitten to us one day. The whole time they were at our house he took care of it. Cleaning it and he even carried her around when she was straying away from the house.

Cats are remarkable creatures.

The male cat probably knows. Usually the "Toms" will kill the kittens at a very young age in order to have the female go back into heat.

yes they do know, cats can sense if the other cat is female or male, pregnant or not and all that stuff. if you put the cats together nothing will happen.

cats can communicate with each other, u know. they communicate by body language and scent and sound. animals may not be intelligent but they do have the mental capacity to understand what pregnancy is. if they didnt, then animals wouldnt be very successful reproducers.
