Persevere. Parents know their children best. As long as he is unwell, don't give up till you get some answers.

You hear stories like this all the time, people being fobbed off.
It is not normal for your son to have this for so long.

You are being a good parent.

Well....it doesn't help to go to the ER for common ailments like your son is experiencing. You need to stick with your family doctor. I would see him and explain what the pains are like, and the thype of bowel movements he has been having etc. Be prepared to answer questions about what he ate, and about what he was doing when the pains hit.

Bugs CAN last a long time in the intestinal tract especially if they are parasites. But a family doctor can investigate it. Your son could have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) or other motility problems.

Doctors don't like it when patients doctor hop, and misuse ER. Speak calmly and explain that this pain is affecting your son's life and that you need it investigated.

Good luck.

You could talk to the Medical director who is in charge of the Doctors who may be MD or have Masters on hospital management.
If it is a private it might be another matter. I belong to HMO, when I had a problem with one of the Dr, I got result by talking to the medical Dr. Also do some research on line and post some question
to the WEB MD, you may find the answer or some one who may help. Good luck.
