I would suggest you get yourself away from the things that are giving you so much stress in your life, this would also include people in your life you have no tolerence for.

Tough one. Envy I believe is the result of being very unsatisfied with one's self. If you want what other people have and want to be like other people that is denying your very self. Some envy is probably a natural emotion, however it should be a passing one. If you're constantly envious of everyone around you and also find yourself degrading people verbally (perhaps behind their backs) this can be a sign of excess narcissism. If you think about it, literally the oddest thing to say is "I want to be like so and so". It means you are so unhappy with yourself you'd give your self away. So I would say the way to get rid of envy is to become more happy with one's self and to enjoy your own life. The happiest people I've known are the ones who are internally driven rather than externally controlled or influenced.

One, you've done, but being conscious of the feeling.
Two, you have to accept that the world doesn't center on you,
but that everyone has their day in the sun, so when others glow,
you know that it doesn't take anything away from you.
Three, wouldn't it be great if you could feel happy for the person with the advantages you lack? That's what a loving heart brings you.
Four, stop compairing yourself with others,
and focus on what you have, what you are.
You can't be envious of others if you are happy yourself.
They say Misery loves company,
but the inverse is also true:
when you are happy, in love, you want everyone to be.
Five, don't pretend that you don't have some envy,
for envy is a natural emotion, but one that maturity can master.
Envy can make you a better person, not a bitter one.
Set goals, and objectives to work for to reach your goals.
Happy comes from hope, and hope comes from increase.
People are happy if they are progressing,
and sad if they are in decline, no matter how rich or poor.
Remember, ENVY is so destructive that a commandment warns us,
Thy shalt not covet thy neigbhor's..........

envy is rooted in greed. To stop envy you need to destroy greed. The best way to destroy geed is to start being thankful for what you have. Start thinking about all of the unfortunate and tortured people around the world. You have much to be thankful for. Its hard to be envious and greedy when you have a thankful heart. Greed and envy will surly destroy your happiness

Just because this worked for me doesn't necessarily mean it will for you too. But visiting a few undeveloped countries in Asia and Africa cured me of self-pity. No matter how much bad luck I have, by comparison with the world's poor, I've had a good life. It's easy to say now, because even by first-world standards, right now I'm not too badly-off. But if you look at somebody living in a war zone or on the streets in India, don't you think you're fairly privileged?

If this is a persistent condition, I think it is best to speak to a professional about it. Please do not waste any of your precious life, being nagged by negative emotions.
I like what "Mike" said. The more you believe in yourself and are happy with yourself, I think tht negative emotions have a shorter life span. Good luck, friend.

First you have to respect yourself and become your own success, then you wont envy others by what you have accomplished in your life.
