Corinthians 2 6:14 states: "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers". Aren't Christians that follow this rather dubious book compelled to leave since they are well aware that there are plenty of unbelievers on here?

being equally yoked to me means more than a friendship or debating sort of relationship. I think the more diverse the playing field the more information you will get for your questions. I try to find positives from all religions and non religions as well. It is my job as a Christian to treat others as I would want them to treat me. If I ignore those who have different beliefs or ridicule them then I am not being a very good representative of my faith. And I am not practicing what I preach.

honestly, yet then the Christian section might degenerate into that shaggy dog tale that keeps getting published. you recognize the only the place the guy is going to leap off a bridge, and somebody else stops him, till he learns they're distinctive forms of 'reformed' so the 2d guy pushes the jumper off the bridge for being an infidel. The atheist section might nevertheless argue as to WHY they did no longer believe in god, besides the shown fact that it could be greater thrilling than the Christian section.

You do show a notable ignorance of the verse you quote. It may help you to look up the meaning of the word yoke.

Since God fills all things and even the heaven of heavens cannot contain him it rather looks as though there may be found no place for atheists. I hope that is not you.

Study the word "yoked" in the context it was used and you may have the answer to your question. On the other hand your reference to the Bible as a "dubious book" reveals that you do not have the mind of Christ nor Spirit of God to understand God's words. For 1 Corinthians 2:14,16 says, "The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned "(14). "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ"(16). If you really want to know what God's Word means; humble yourself before God and ask Him to open your eyes and your heart to know Him.

What pray tell is a convinced atheist doing quoting scripture? You may be an atheist, I may be a believer but I still respect you as a human being and you don't trouble me in the slightest, why would I leave?

good question. I guess if you follow the word of the bible and
take it literaly then I would say yes that christians would feel compelled to leave. However they also have the bible informing
them to share their beliefs with others, so on that hand no ....
hmmmm makes you go back and forth.

Certainly not!!!

There are many believers and those who are uncertain in their faith here who can be led astray by those who attack God and all His children for having any beliefs in the first place.

I pray I will always stand up for the Lord, defending Him as He defends me and all who follow Him; doing all I can to be a good and faithful servant to Him and a good and faithful sister to all my brothers and sisters.

God has not abondoned me and I will not abandon Him or my brethern.

Religion must really trouble you, or why would you ask this question? Be like me, I don't even know what Corinthians is or are, and I have no desire to find out, but you did!

I resent being called an unbeliever, that implies there's actually some worthwhile argument to say there is something to believe in....

yo man listen up! im an evangelist..and from what i know..the God that i worship does not discriminate any gays, jews, blacks, whites, dikes, retards, geniuses, paris hilton wannabe's, high maintenance women, liars, doctors, or judges..we just do our thing and obey the law and respect one another...let God decide our afterlife..good night and god bless

Notice that much of this statement from a supposed preacher has a least two slanders in it... "dikes, retards" - so much for the idea of "respecting one another", huh?
