Is there any laws for returning major purchases prior to 3 days from purchase?

In most states there are not. If your purchase was done at a place of business the states all work with the dealers so you would be out of luck. If it was private you may be able to check with your better business bureau.

In NY there is no "cooling off" period, which is what you are referring to. I believe that most states are the same.
