How difficult is it to buy a plane ticket?

I was born in London, but moved to America about a year ago. I am here on a working VISA. I will head back to London in about a year.

It is interesting to see another world. New York was amazing. I currently live in a small suburb outside of Philadelphia. I ride a train for an hour into the city every day. If you can, try to get a car in America. The METRO does not take you everywhere you may want to go!

People here in America are very nice, a bit stupid sometimes, but generally nice.

It has been a great experience for me.

To get a more specific answer to your question, you'll need to give us more information.

If you're a university student, you get special treatment. You can get a special visa called BUNAC* which will allow you to live and work in the US for several months.

If you're an adult, you'll need to be sponsored by a company that needs you and cannot find your skills in local (American) workers.

If you're just going for a visit, then it's fairly easy to get in, provided you have a passport. You have to have a pretty clean record (no criminal offenses) if you want to stay in the US for any length of time, except as a visitor.

Again, for better answers, give us more information about 1) your school, 2) your work, 3) whether you want to just visit or if you want to live in the US.

Look at the us immigration website it offers info on applying for a green card lottery. UK quotas for applying have been filled for 2006 unless you live in Northern Ireland!
It cost $60 i think to download the PDF forms, fill them out if eligible and cross fingers.
Or as previous answer states a company will have to Sponsor you and prove that they cannot find an equivalent US citz to do the same job.

As far as I am aware , it is fairly straightforward if you have the necessary paperwork. On the other hand it will prove very difficult if you are in the middle of a gaol sentence.
