no coincidense there are spiritual forces whispering in you r ear.
interesting fact.. b4 I got saved i had this delicious evil laugh. People would ask me to do it. Shortly after I got saved and entered into a prayer regimen.
I surprizingly found I could not do the laugh. I did not think it was a bad thing made no effort to loose it. It just left. Go figure. Also I lost a taste for pork, and started to like things that b4 I did not feel attracted to.

Well, it's my opinion that there is no such thing as neutral ground anymore when it comes to pop music. Music has a powerful effect on people. It can draw you in to places you wouldn't let your own mother go into. I would be so careful if I were you. On the one hand, there are some very talented musicians out there. On the other hand, Satan is very experienced with things that attract people to move away from God. I am interested in all kinds of music myself, but there is some music I have learned to stay away from because it will actually make my heart and spine hurt. If God is the source of harmony and light and peace, then there must be an antithesis to that. There is opposition in all things. I do not say rock music itself is bad - there is some excellent rock music out there. But be very careful of lyrics. Young adults or teenagers often go through a phrase of investigating that side of things, but you have to look for a balance in all things. When you say "sinister" I believe it is possible to get caught up in music which will damage your spirit, even though you do not believe in that right now. At the very least, the wrong kind of music can foster selfishness and a slower response to the needs of others. I have heard of studies where too much loud rock music will actually inhibit growth of plants or even kill them off. Sometimes people with brain damage will respond to music even though they can't communicate any other way. It's what music therapists study to work with all kinds of people. It's an area that we as humans don't fully understand yet.

Yes, something sinister is at work.
There are many false gods who work to deceive and distract us from the one true God.

Perhaps you have an urge to do your sinning vicariously. So through offensive music or reading material that brings you evil thoughts, you are sinning without really participating in it.
