You might not know each other but if either one of you accidentally hits or scratches the other's car, you'll meet her in a negative light and that's not always conducive for good relationships between neighbors, either. Weather-permitting, you might leave a nice note on her window, under her wipers and just ask her if she would please mind leaving a bit more room for you to park and then thank her for the courtesy and see what happens. If parking is very limited where you live, then you might want to approach the landlord and ask him/her if there will be more parking spaces in the future, or something to that effect.

Find a place that rents cheap cars or get a friend with a car to come and stay and park the other car so close to the neighbour's car that she cannot get out. She will have to come to you and ask for your help. Take it from there.

You don't have to be rude when you talk to her. Just go up to her and introduce yourself to her. Then ask her if she could please not park so close to your car because you don't want to damage either car. If it is possible show her how close she is to your car. Maybe she doesn't realize that she is so close. I have seen people get out of their cars and never look to see if it parked correctly. If she has any an decency she will understand that it is what is best for both cars. I had to do something similar with my new neighbors and everything worked out fine. It is not what you say but how you say it.

It is slightly possible she is disabled and has trouble getting out of her car so she parks closer to the passenger side of her slot. Assuming there are painted slots. Offer to trade spots with her. OR,
Leave a friendly note on the winshield explaining the problem which she may not be aware of and ask, "what can I do to help?"
that you are offering to be part of the solution instead of a part of the problem.
P.S. Ignore those who suggested damaging the other car, that is criminal and will make an enemy of her. And may get you a fine or an insurance claim.

Talk to her, tell her what the problem is than ask her of she wants to go out to see the town etc.
Or slash her tyres at 3am every night for 6 months like we do with the ignorant white van man who takes up 2 spaces and the entire entrance to the parking area on the patch that doesn't belong to his house. Now he parks it somewhere else and is moving because noone likes him.

could you back your car in, giving you more space on the drivers side? I had a notepad that said "thanks for parking so close, next time leave a canopener so I can get in my car, assh-les like you should take the bus" but I know you dont want to say that yet :) talk to the landlord maybe?? paint lines for parking spaces when she is not there?? good luck...

That's EXACTLY what you need to do though. She could just be a space cadet and not even thinking about it or the other possibility that she just doesn't care. In that case you just have to remain diplomatic and let her know how you and the other neighbors have always respected each others parking conditions.Good luck!

OK, park your car some place else and buy a piece of crap-vehicle and use this in your normal parking spot. then when it comes to parking it, accidently! Crash into their car, sort of gently several times, they'll give you space sooner or later. Good luck.
Anarchy!

I'm. SO. not good with confrontation so I'd leave a note under the wipers saying, "I was wondering what you were planning on doing this weekend, would you like to go out for lunch?
p.s.
The short distance between our cars is making me a bit weary. Mind scooting over just a bit when you park?"
Yes, I'm a chicken. :]

Leave a note saying
Next time you park so close leave a F----- tin opener
Or try parking half way over her parking spot to stop her from parking beside you
