No more so than any other influence out there. It gets real reough trying to point at one thing and go, "Oh, That's it!". The mind works very funky, and many things can have an effect on the programming. The problem is, the mind is a compilation of everything that it's experienced, so, while things can have an effect, it's also filtered by everything else that's happened.

You an show 100 people the same picture, and get 100 different responses to it...Even twins, raised in the same home, can react differently to the same stimulus.

Truth would never influence anyone to kill. Many religions no matter how well intended are based on perceptions of Truth and that don't make them True. God and Truth are synomonous and will stand on there own long after religion dies. There are all kinds of religions that have influenced men to do stupid things. To me, it is almost like sticking up for the highschool you went to. If you were to keep an open mind the Truth would prevail and a religious point of view would no more be necessary. God is real, His son Jesus is real, and the Holy Spirit is real. Do you need any other title to identify that truth with? I guareentee that God does not care what name is on your church building or you baptism certificate other then the name Jesus. If you keep seeking to know what is reality, then reality will come to you. If you get hung up on some mans religion then you are headed to a dead end street because that is where they are going in their religious dogma. Freedom is not going to be found in legalism. Free indeed is what you want. The only rules are to love God with all of your being, and to love other people as you love yourself.

I don't think religion had anything to do with the influence on those particular men's imbalance. Usually, religion does not lead one to horrible acts but a perversion of religion is more likely. Perhaps a parent who held a warped view of religion or what was right and placed standards of right and wrong on the small child that was so rigid as to be mind altering.

There are some religions which seem anti-demonic, which is a lie unto itself as they often will release demons into "believers" who are deluded into thinking they are doing the right thing.

I don't think religion does. I think that anything they hear can spark them or give them an idea. You can't think like those people do. Can you imagine anything making you do the things they did?we have no idea what sparks those seriously dysfunction people.
